Prior to the Ecotopia Gathering a group of people prepares the camping area.

Sometimes, preparing an event with friends creates that special feeling of anticipation & togetherness that might be even better than the event itself!
The Build-Up Camp can be just that: Creating momentum with a group of people, who work hard on transforming a wild meadow into a welcoming camping area - while having lots of fun.
In one week a yurt, an outdoor kitchen, compost toilets and benches need to be build, signs & a family camp installed and the kitchen and family camp equipped. A great way to learn new skills and spend a wonderful time with others while giving back to the community.

WHERE & WHEN


Build-Up Camp starts one week before the gathering and lasts until the official Ecotopia Gathering starts.


Place: Ecotopia Gathering Campground (close to Molkom, Värmland in Sweden)


Be aware that we start from scratch - toilets and yurt will be build up by the team, so in the beginning it is basically like camping in the woods.


WHAT TO BRING


Bring your skills and an open mind. If you have woodworking skills - great - but there are also other works that need to be done like mowing the lawn, preparing food, splitting firewood, caring water buckets and more.


Also: Bring camping gear like tent, sleeping back, isolation pad, musical instruments, towel, rain gear, head lamp or torch and things for personal needs.


WORK HOURS


We want the Build-Up Camp to be a win-win for everyone! You bring your time and energy and you get food, good company and beautiful nature. Everyone in the build-up camp works 6h per day.

Working hours: 9-12 & 14-17

Preparing food and taking care of our needs happens in between working hours. There is time to go to the lake & to hang out around the fireplace.
